Transformers Dark of the Moon

Awesome movie, great story, superb graphics and best sound effect. 

It was my first time I catch up with a movie on the day it's released. Transformers Dark of the Moon is really awesome and speechless to describe it. Only you will realize when you sit in the cinema and watch the movie for 2 and half hours. 

I watched this movie in 3D. And when wearing the 3D glass, the whole movie would look darker and only sometimes can see the 3D effect. Some more, it is very expensive to rent the 3D glasses in my hometown, the Big Cinemas charges RM 5.00 for one 3D glass. I still prefer the normal or 2D version. 

Frustrated with New Digi Campus Rate

I just realized that beginning 8 of June, a new rate for Digi Campus had been imposed. 

I am really surprised Digi changed its Digi Campus plan rate once again. Now even worst. Last time, I sent SMS to my Friends and Family numbers, the SMS was free or charge. Beginning 8 of June, every message sent to Friends & Family numbers would charge RM 0.01 while to non Friends & Family numbers, a SMS would cost RM 0.01 as well. 

Sending SMS to other telecommunication providers are remained same with RM 0.06. Why they didn't inform us through SMS on this new rate. I am surprised to check my statement on every SMS sent to my Friends and Family list was charged RM 0.01. 

1Murid 1Sukan in Taiping

This morning I saw people putting up banners of this event in Jalan Taming Sari. I went nearer to see and realize on 2nd of July, our Deputy Prime Minister will be coming to my town to launch on the 1Murid 1Sukan policy. 

Date : 2nd of July

Time : 7.45 am

Place : Padang Esplanade, Taiping

It seems like this event would have a short run around Taiping Lake Garden among the leaders of Malaysia and students. 

Good move to promote such policy on students, to encourage students to take up at least a sport. I believe on 2nd of July, the whole Lake Garden would crowded with students from all Taiping's schools. 

Ancient DSLR

Anyone know what model is it?

I saw it when I was visiting the Han Chiang's museum .

They look like DSLR, yet it looks very ancient model. Haha.. 

Freak Accident

On 28th of June, I witnessed a freak accident in front of my eyes. I was so surprise to witness such accident. It happened in the traffic light of Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah. 

That time, I was stopping my car as the traffic light turned red, cars from opposite was moving with green light. As I am waiting for my lane's traffic light turns green, I am looking at the cars passed by besides me. Then for the sudden, the bike in front of me moved to turn right while the traffic light still red on my lane, hoping to cross the road while there isn't much cars from opposite. 

However, the biker's wish was cut short when his bike moved slowly to cross the road was crashed by Toyota Camry which was driving from the opposite. The Toyota Camry wasn't driving fast, around 70 - 80 kmph. I was feeling weird as why the biker would cross the road to right hand side since there were still cars moving from opposite. I am very sure that the biker can see the Toyota Camry was coming. 

The impact of the crash caused the biker to fly over the Toyata Camry and plunged onto road. The biker's bike, Yamaha was flung 10 - 15 meter away from the crash site. Both Toyota Camry and the Yamaha were badly damaged. 

I stopped by to help the biker, fearing the biker might dead, but luckily, God was with him, he just lost conscious and an ambulance brought him away. 

From the crash, the helmet of the biker break apart. I couldn't see any blood around the biker, so I think mostly would be internal injuries. 

Skype for iPad

Soon, I can use Skype app compatible with iPad. I can say good bye to the ugly x2 interface. Currently, I am using Skype app for iPhone and it is really trouble to use it with iPad. With iPhone keyboard, I couldn't enjoy the real experience of chatting :) 

Soon, I will have a better app for Skype with the launching of Skype app specially for iPad. It would run better with iPad 2 as it can use for video call compare to iPad 1. But, I would be happy with just chatting with my Skype friends using with iPad 1.

Massage on Cat

I had an interesting cat. This cat loves us massage on her back. We need to pat on her back and she would looks very enjoying. Compare to other cats, usually when we pat on them, they would run away but my cat is so special and very happy to have people pat on her back.

Unreasonable Profile Update - Parlimen and DUN location

As on 20 June, most of students were checking their final exam results, our Portal had been flooded with high traffics. It was normal to have this situation as for the past few semesters, I had experienced on this. Hence, I need to check my final exam results during midnight where the traffics would not as high as in the day time. 

However, something went wrong and ended everyone couldn't check their results on that day. The results was published on the next day after they had fixed on the system. In the end, every student has to update their current profile before they are allowed to check their results. 

It was a good way to get the latest information from students as we were eager to know our results, I am fine to update my profile as well, but to my surprise, inside the profile required us to fill in our Parlimen and DUN location. 

What is our Parlimen and DUN location need to do with our student profile?? 

We are noted that all university students are prohibited to involve in politics!! It was very suspicious! to have  our Parlimen and DUN location updated to the university system. Is this the sign that general election would be around the corner? Or anything special would I get by filling this Parlimen and DUN location? 

Until today, no explanation is given by any university authority or our students' representative regarding this Parlimen and DUN location updated to our student' profile. 

I hope the university won't involve us in any politics motive!

Final Exam Results Leaked

Few days before the real date of final examination results released, it had leaked online. Everyone was sharing in Facebook the link to check the results.

Supposing, everyone can check their final exam results on 20 June but on 17 June, the link to check the results was shared in the social media and it had create an uproar to everyone.

All we need to do was login to our UUM Portal first and then click on this link, http://www.umis.uum.edu.my/umis/biodata/keputusan_pep.jsp?term=A102&valid=true to check the results of current semester. The link was get from the UUM Biodata and was hidden in our Biodata for few days before  20 June.

Although, our MPP Facebook fanpage had explained on the situation but the reason given by them wasn't acceptable. It was impossible for someone to hack into the university computer and get all the students results and so kind to share to everyone. If I were the hacker, I would prefer to hack into the system and change my academic results rather. 

Actually, there wasn't any hacking process needed, all we need to do is login into our Portal, go to the Biodata, inside there, we can check our previous semester examination results, we just need to change the semester to A102 then we can get the results for that semester. Similarly to our Add Drop process through portal.

Few days before the results released, they would hidden the link to avoid people to check it but yet there was always clever persons to unveil it. This method can be reused for our coming final examination. 

Famous Portuguese Grilled Seafood in Mid Valley

My friend brought me to Mid Valley to have the famous Portuguese Grilled Seafood in Mid Valley. As it was my first time in Mid Valley, I had the difficulty to choose which food for my lunch and in the end, I chose this suggested from my friend the Pari fish.

It has a lot of varieties for customers to choose and the famous ones according to my friends are the Pari fish, Lala, and Sotong. 

I ordered the Pari fish for RM 7.50 + RM 0.40 for the rice. Having a meal in the metropolitan would cost me RM 7.90 which was very expensive in my opinion. I had to spend one red colour note (RM 10.00) just for my lunch inclusive a cup of water.

Yet, my utility for this lunch was very high and was satisfied although the Pari fish was very spicy. 

Trip to KL & Selangor

I left my home on 11 June and returned home on 24 June. Exactly two weeks, I was away as I was attending these events.

Throughout this two weeks, I had been to a lot of places in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. Travelling from Serdang, to Segambut, to KL Sentral, to Bukit Bintang and to Mid Valley. 

I had my chance to visit the Mid Valley for the first time with my AIESEC friends, Sharon and Hui Yi and we had a Fast and Furious 5 movie there. 

NatCon 2011

Extremely intensive 6 days planning from 13 June until 18 June 2011. I attended the National Convention 2011 which is an annual event for Management Team of each Local Committee of AIESEC. There were approximate of 350 delegates from 11 different Local Committee of AIESEC in Malaysia had attended this 6 days event. 

We were staying in Kolej 17 and I were impressed with the condition of the accommodation. It is a house type accommodation where inside a house has four rooms to accommodate two persons in each room. 

From what I know, this college 17 is specially for medic students. It has a very good environment to live, study and leisure. 

Myt favourite topic discussed by ING which was Communication and was very suit to my current position as Vice President of Communications Department.

My favorite Megaupload also one of the victims. I am very sadden with this banned.

Like this a lot of TVB dramas I cannot download. Sad..sad..

930 tonnes of food being thrown away every day

Looking at the title alone, it was scary to hear so many wasting foods are thrown away each day. This is true as I seen it with my eyes how Malaysians bad eating habit of unfinished foods. 

In my campus, I see a lot of Malaysians took a lot of foods on their plates and I am impress with certain of them who are able to finish all of the foods. However, I am disgrace to most of them who are not able to finish all of the foods. Some of the foods just being eaten with few bites. 

I am wondering what they are thinking of waste foods. Are they very rich persons? or they are trained to be like this in their home? I am very curious to know ! 

There was one time, I am together with my gf in Pizza Hut Taiping and saw two Malays couple eating beside my table, ordering a new set of appetizers . They just ate few bites of the appetizers and left the remaining on the table! I am wondering what they are thinking? The unconsumed foods can be taken back to give to family members or anyone else. By leaving the foods on the table, all the unconsumed will be thrown to dustbin. It is wasting the foods!

EveryDNS to FreeDNS Afraid

This morning I received an email from EveryDNS (current DNS Host) regarding request to shift their server to a new host which is Dyn. For the past few days, I have the trouble in logging to my blog. I always receive the DNS error page.

A check in the EveryDNS website shown that 84 days left for all its members to shift to a new host. 

So, I had to shift to a new DNS host. However I found it complicated to host under Dyn, hence I need to find a new host. As I was looking for a new host, it would take several hours to effectively change to a new host. I found this free DNS host which is FreeDNS Afraid. It is very easy to setup for the DNS compare to Dyn.

As I am using a free domain, Uni.CC, so I have to change its Nameserver #1 and #2 to a new host : ns1.afraid.org and ns2.afraid.org.

After that, login to the FreeDNS Afraid and click "Manage" and click on your domain. Select the Type A, Subdomain to www and the destination to 216.239.32.21 or 216.239.34.21 (which is for blogger)

In the beginning, there would be a broken domain, just ignore it, wait for several hours and click on the "Check for Broken Domains" then it would be successfully port to this new host.

After that wait for several hours, then a new DNS host would be setup and ready to use. 

Apple Now Worth More Than Microsoft & Intel Combined

According to the news reported in Mashable.com 

Apple is now worth more than Microsoft and Intel combined. That is impressive to see the Apple has growth so much in the past few years. 

Since the launching of iPhone and iPad few years ago, everyone has been dying of owning these two gadgets. I owned iPad and after using it for several months, I have the feeling of owning iPhone and MacBook as well. But yet, now isn't the time for me to get these two technology at the moment as I already have a handphone and a laptop. But surely, I am looking forward to own these two gadgets in future. 

One of the reason of Apple growth surpass Microsoft and Intel is the strong response towards iPad 1 and iPad 2. I strongly agree on this as nowadays in the newspaper, I always see advertisement promoting their brands with a competition of the prize of iPad 2. With such support towards iPad, in future, we can see each and everyone of us would own this Apple tablet rather than a laptop. 

So, what Microsoft and Intel would be doing to counter this fact ? Not to forget, currently most tablets in the markets are equipped with Android. So, in the future, if we are preferring to a mobile gadget rather than PC (desktop), then Microsoft and Intel would lose its popularity.
