Iphone 4 (Digi vs Maxis)

Iphone 4 is expected to be released in Malaysian market soon in this week.. 

Few days ago, Maxis has announced their price packages for the Iphone 4.. as we can see here, the  cheapest package's monthly fee for the Maxis Iphone 4 remain the same as the old package at RM 100 per month..  

However, for the Digi's Iphone 4 packages, the cheapest plan's for monthly fee is at RM 58 per month.. It is cheaper than the previous Digi Iphone packages.. Digi has yet to announced all the packages offered by them and is expected to be announced at 6pm today..

Lets stay tune for the Digi's announcement in this evening.. sure will give a lot of surprises to everyone..

Day 1 : Depart from Penang

First of all, I would like to say happy holiday to all my friends.. We will have 2 weeks holiday break in conjunction of Hari Raya break and mid semester break..

So, I will spend my first week of my Hari Raya break in Shanghai, China.. Yay.. I departed from Penang on 3rd of September and will be in Shanghai until 10 September.. This was my family trip to Shanghai and our intention was to visit the Shanghai Expo 2010.. 

I will cover whole my adventure to the Shanghai in my blog :)

Day 1 : Depart from Penang

Day 1 of the trip to Shanghai began in the early morning of Friday as we have to gather in the airport two hours before the departure time.. My family and I reached in the Penang International Airport at 6am this morning.. I was so surprised to see so many locals and foreigners in the airport.. hoho.. 

I had to queue up for 45 minutes to check-in at the Cathay Pacific counter.. Then, we boarded the Cathay Pacific's plane to Hong Kong at 7.45am..!! It took us 3 and half hours to reach the Hong Kong airport and within two hours, we have to broad another plane (Dragonair) to Shanghai at 1pm.. 

I would say the Cathay Pacific's plane is similar to MAS's plane, bigger compartment and services and to compare the Dragonair to the AirAsia where the plane is smaller..

I reached the Shanghai airport at 3.35pm and then, we straight went to sit the Maglev (bullet train). The speed of the bullet train was running at 301 km/h.. superb fast.. but sadly only from one destination to another destination is available with this bullet train..

After that, we went to have our dinner in a Chinese restaurant in a 10-persons table style.. We were served with 10 different dishes.. OMG..!! I was so full until I cannot walk.. haha.. Then, we went to the famous Shanghai River.. I never expect to have so many tourists and locals there..!!

CSL Spice MI700

CSL is going to release a Android Tablet in Malaysian market in September. It would be the first in Malaysia and maybe in the world to have a tablet with SIM card for calling out. Malaysia Boleh..!!

According to the news released few days ago in the internet, this Android tablet would feature the version 2.1 (Esclair) and is upgradable to version 2.2 (Froyo)

That's a great news for me because I was planning to get an Android Tablet when I am travelling in Shanghai this coming September. I was aiming at the Apad IRobot which is around RM 300+ or USD 100. It is a very cheap..! However, my concern was this Apad is China made and no warranty could be claimed when I bring back to Malaysia. At the same time, this Morning, my friend posted in my facebook on this newly launched CSL Spice MI700 Android Tablet, made my mind changed.

It has most functions that I wanted and this tablet is faster than the Apad IRobot. I would prefer this tablet rather than IRobot as this has at least 1 year warranty in Malaysia.

The most shocking to me when I read this news was this tablet has SIM calling function, I cannot imagine when someone takes out the 7 inch tablet for phone calling..!! LOL..!!

By the way, it was a great innovation from CSL company although we don't know whether this tablet might be from China and re-brand into CSL. haha.. Anyway, I will be looking forward for the price for this tablet soon in September. I am hoping the price won't be four figures of Ringgit Malaysia and would hope for below thousand. I also hope to get this tablet on my palm if the price was reasonable.. hehe..

Mid Semester Examination

Haha.. mid semester exam is around the corner.. 

Some of my friends have taken the exam while for me, I have 5 papers on these coming days, before the Raya break and another 2 papers after the holiday.. 

Starting tomorrow, I will sit for my Management Accounting paper and next week I have 4 papers.. gosh!!

McDonalds' Ramadan

Disappointed With Nationwide Express

I was suppose to get my motorcycle in Alor Setar from the Nationwide Express yesterday.. My sister couriered the motorcycle on Saturday's Morning in Penang and was promised by the Nationwide Express's worker that the motorcycle will reach the Alor Setar's Nationwide Express office on Tuesday..

However, when I went to the Alor Setar yesterday and my sister phoned to the Nationwide Express, we were told that the motorcycle hasn't being sent from the KL..!! I was so surprised on this matter..!! Why the motorcycle is in KL?? As my sister couriered it from Penang.. 

Why the Nationwide Express has such policy?? From Penang, they couriered the motorcycle to central region, KL.. then they would courier it to the Alor Setar.. This is wasting the money policy..!!  Why the CEO has this mindset??

I wasn't satisfied with this situation and I phoned to the Alor Setar's Nationwide Express office and was told that on that day (Tuesday), there was no motorcycle sent to the Alor Setar.. The receptionist told me only Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the Nationwide Express would send motorcycles and it depends on loads.. This meaning, whenever there are loads to be sent from KL to the Northern region, the motorcycle wouldn't be attached to the loads.. WTH..!!  Of course everytimes there are a lot of loads to be sent..!! Sure my motorcycle wouldn't reaching the Alor Setar soon.. 

I pay RM 110.00 for the courier service from Penang to Alor Setar..!! Not from Penang to KL and to Alor Setar..!! This is wasting my time and money..!! If Nationwide Express claimed every couriers would reach the receiver the next day or the day after tomorrow, PLEASE stop this nonsense claims..!!

I highlighted this problem so that next time, if anyone wanted to courier motorcycle to anywhere, think twice if you wanted to use the Nationwide Express..

Dual Boot Win 7 & Vista

Few days ago, I installed a new Operating System (Windows Vista) into my current Windows 7 laptop.. 

I was doing so because the online game that I wanted to play, cannot support (compatible) with Windows 7 and it crashed everytimes I enter to the game.. Thankfully, now with the new Windows Vista in my laptop, I can play the online game as normal.. 

With the two Operating Systems (Windows 7 + Windows Vista), I will have an option during the boot to choose either to run as Windows 7 or Windows Vista.. Hence, I would use the Windows 7 for surfing internet and movies while Windows Vista would be used as gaming.. 

PIKOM PC Fair (II) 2010

It was here again for the PIKOM PC Fair (II) edition and this time I could not resist myself from attending this event yet again. haha I attended the Penang PC Fair which was held at the same venue, Penang International Sports Arena (PISA). I went to the PC Fair on Friday as on Saturday I had class to attend and I went to Penang on Thursday evening.

Before I attending this PC Fair, I went to service my sister's motorcycle which I will bring to UUM soon. I went to this PC Fair with my UUM friend and my roommate. This was my first time at the PC Fair with friends as usually I went there alone or with my sisters.

I didn't buy anything for myself because I had bought an external harddisk few days ago and not planning to invest in new computer accessories. haha

Temptation of Steamboat & BBQ

Do you ever wish to eat non stop until your stomach is feeling to burst..?

I have a great suggestion for you. You have to visit the Town Steamboat Restaurant which is located in Macalister Road (opposite the UMNO Penang building)

In here, you can have steamboat & BBQ in buffet style..!! You can eat as much as you can..!! Here you can get most kind of steamboat & BBQ foods ranging from prawn, fish, chicken, beef, pork, osyter, fried crab, Dim Sum, satay, egg tart, nuggets, fish, pork, chicken, crab ball, ice cream, ice kacang, fried rice, mee and mihun and etc..

Each table is equip with a stove and steamboat equipment. We were served with chicken soup and tom yam soup. I prefer tom yam soup rather than chicken soup. However, on that day, the tom yam soup was so spicy until my face turned red. I drank too much water to overcome the spicy which this reduced my chance to eat more foods. haiz..

Talking about the price to enjoy all this temptation, we just need to pay RM 18.90 per person and we can enjoy all these foods from evening until midnight..!! However, no food wasting are allowed here as they would charge customers who left a lot of foods behind.

HOPE Day

From today until this Thursday, UUM is having a HOPE Day (Hari Organisasi Pelajar) at the Dataran Perdana.. We AIESEC UUM doesn't miss the opportunity to set up a booth for the HOPE Day.. 

The HOPE Day begins at 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.. The number of our booth was 12.. Feel free to visit us :)

Samsung External Hard Disk

On 15 July, I bought a new Samsung External Hard Disk for myself.. The inside was the Samsung hard disk while the casing was the Cliptec.. It was 2.5" SATA HDD - very light.. haha

I bought the 500 GB external hard disk at RM 200.00 which I consider was the cheapest and affordable for the 500 GB as I was expecting the market price to be around RM 200.00 and above..

First time, I saw this miracle rainbows in my life.. hehe.. Awesome experience..!!

UUM Sports Centre

The operation hours for the UUM Sports Centre as follows,

At least once in a week, I will go to play badminton in the Sports Centre.. Preferable on Monday night, after the Night Market (Pasar Malam).. haha

New Furnitures..!!

I am back in UUM..!!!

I knew my furnitures were going to change to a new one before I'm going back to UUM but to my surprise, all the old furnitures had been thrown away and were changed to a complete new set of furnitures.. I thought the wardrobe was the only one change to a new wardrobe, instead the bed, mattress, study table, study chair, bookshelf and softboard also being inside the list of new furnitures..

It was great to have new furnitures for the starting semester.. It did boost my spirit to study with this new environment.. haha 

La Promise Cafe

Few days before I going back to UUM, my gf, her friend and I went to the La Promise Cafe (Piano Cafe) to take our lunch.. This was my first time been to the cafe although the cafe has been exist since few years ago.. The cafe is located along the Jalan Panggong Wayang (Theater Road).. It has WiFi inside the cafe.. 

All of us took the lunch set which was RM 9.90 per person and the set has a starter, a main course, a dessert and a drink to choose from a few varieties.. 

I chose a Mushroom soup as my starter, a Chicken Chop-Potato Gravy, a Chocolate ice cream with cake dessert and a cold Coffee..

This lunch set was reasonable but the quantity wasn't up to my expectation.. It was delicious especially the chicken chop and the dessert.. Score : 6/10

Penang Bowl

In the early of this month, I went to Penang to repair my Toshiba power adapter because the wire worn out.. I went to Penang on Sunday followed my sister car and the next day, I went out with my friend to the Toshiba Center inside the Northern Tower building.. 

I was told by the technician, the wire worn out was a physical damaged and it doesn't cover under the warranty although my warranty for the laptop is until next year April.. So, I had no choice but to buy a new power adapter.. 

Before I went to search for the power adapter in the Perangin Mall, my friend and I went to the Penang Bowl which is located beside the Eastern & Oriental Hotel (E&O) 

My expectation towards the Penang Bowl was very high as I thought the Penang Bowl would be very "high class" but it turned out to be an old building.. Ok la.! Ignore the old building, hopefully inside would be better, but to my sadden twice, the inside also same with the building age.. The bowling balls were old and damaged.. The surface was very rough as the bowling ball would swing away although my ball was straight.. 

However, the good thing was this Penang Bowl has students' price - RM 2.50 per game and RM 1.00 for renting shoes.. 

I bought a Acer Power Adapter which was similar to my Toshiba Power Adapter at the Perangin Mall for RM 70.00 each.. This is the cheapest I could find in the Perangin Mall as most sellers were selling the Universal Power Adapter which I think it wouldn't be suitable for my laptop if I was to use my laptop for long hours..

King Edward VII Sports Day

It was a awesome feeling to be back to my alma mater especially sports day..!! I missed my last year Sports Day due to my university term began on the same week of the Sports Day.. Hence, I would make sure I could make to this Sports Day this year.. 

I cannot described my feeling to words.. Anyway, I met a lot of my friends whom I haven't meet them since I left Form 5 (2008) As tradition, our school sports day will start in the afternoon at 2pm as to compare to other schools, mostly would held the Sports Day during Morning..

I reached the school late around 3pm and missed the opening ceremony, however, I am managed to watch the whole sports event.. 

I liked the weather on the day because it wasn't too hot and no rain fall..

The event that we all being waiting for was the "Tarik Tali" competition between the North Tigers and South Tigers.. But before that, the Keir house and Parr house were competing for the 1st and 2nd place.. and Keir house won the competition easily.. haha.. 

This was the North Tigers vs South Tigers..!! Although I wasn't a fair play competition as they were cheating by adding more members on their team during the competition rather than 10 persons on each team.. haha

Sports Day ended at 6.30 pm and all of us went back happily, Parr house won the whole teams competition again this year and very pity to Keir house in second place with the difference of 2 points.. haha.. My house, Raffles was at third place for this year..!!
