Today, I went to request for the Netbook + Broadband package from TMpoint.. These are the details of this package..

This package is known as Streamyx Cool Uni Pack..

In this package, broadband is offered together with Netbook & Wifi (Streamyx Zone ID) specially for student from low income families. (Low income is defined as total household income below RM 5000 per month)

There are several packages of different prices with different internet speed.. The cheapest and lowest speed was 384 kbps for RM 50 per month..

This offer is targeted for 100,000 students and is opens for listed IPTA and IPTS nationwide.. (a lot of local  universities and private colleges were selected)

Here comes the interesting part, a HP netbook was selected by TM for this Streamyx Cool Uni Pack.. The HP netbook is the HP Mini 210 which is worth RM 1200.. This netbook was just released to market in January 2010..

In my opinion, this package is a great deal for those who had subscribed for Streamyx Combo as Combo subscribers will be paying less from RM 60 monthly to RM 50 monthly with the same internet speed + a netbook for a personal use.. However, this package only offered to 1st and 2nd year of Malaysian local and private universities' students..
