Subsidy Cuts

It was an old news on Friday's newspaper as the government was proposing on subsidy cuts in food items, petrol, gas, toll rates, healthcare and education. 

By implementing this subsidy cuts, the government is going to cut our throats as well.. Everyone is going to be infected by this move.. Even though, publics were warned by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, our country is going to be bankrupt in 2019 if the government continues to subsidy to us.. 

Oh my God.. It was a shocking fact.. We are suppose to move towards to Wawasan 2020 but before we are reaching the peak, we are already bankrupt a year before.. I am very disappointed..!! Is it true our country really going to bankrupt?? It sounds fishy.. We are currently developing and a lot of us are paying huge sums of tax money to the government..!! 

If you were reading today's newspaper, the government is giving out 1 MILLION laptops to poor students.. It was a good move to increase the broadband penetration.. However, on the other hand, the government is wasting Million of Ringgits.. Just few days ago, we were told we are going to bankrupt, so the government supposes to be saving money.. Let I assume, one laptop is pricing at RM 1,500, hence RM 1,500 x 1,000,000 = RM 1,500,000,000.. Look at the number of digits..!! One Billion and Five hundred Million Ringgits..

In matter of fact, the government can use another way to increase the broadband penetration.. Since these laptops are targeting on students, why not upgrade the school's computer labs facilities.. This will increase the number of students using computer and internet in school.. Encourage the students to use internet in school, students would always come to school to online in return they wont go out involve with unhealthy activities.. Most importantly, be fair to all students.. It wouldn't be fair, if a poor income student brings a laptop to school while an average income student looks on it..

Another concern is how the government distribute the laptops to poor students?? Let say, one poor family has 5 children study in secondary school, so is it all 5 of them will get the laptops?? Sounds too good to be true..

Streamyx 1Malaysia

Good news to all low incomers..!! 

Telekom Malaysia (TM) will introduce a new Streamyx package which is aimed for people low-income. This new package will be the cheapest in the country compared to current Streamyx packages available for everyone. 

I knew this information from the TV news portal. The new package's monthly fee is in between RM 20.00 to RM 38.00 per month and an addition of a free netbook..

I believe the netbook would be the HP mini 210 (similar to the Streamyx Cool Uni Pack).. 

As this package was announced by our Prime Minister, I think the new Streamyx package would be named Streamyx 1Malaysia.. 

Now everyone can subscribe to the internet from as low as RM 20.00 per month. The RM 20.00 per month is only applied for the Universal Service Provider (USP) area and the RM 38.00 per month is the rest..

Anyone who doesn't meet the requirements for the Streamyx Cool Uni Pack, this is an another chance for you to grab an internet + netbook :)

AIESEC : National Pioneers Conference

From 21 until 23 May, I went to Penang to attend the National Pioneers Conference in Flamingo Hotel. It was a awesome conference which was held in a grand hotel. 

I had the opportunity to meet with the Local Committee and Member Committee of AIESEC for the term of 2010/11 here during the conference and they were from Local Committee University Sains Malaysia (USM), University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), University Putra Malaysia (UPM), University Malaya (UM), and University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). 

The whole conference I were given with foods and drinks but weren't enough to fill my big stomach ~haha~ Hence, we had our breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper at Sri Ananda Bahwan which is located opposite of the Flamingo Hotel. We had a great refreshment of Indian foods. :)

Behind the Flamingo Hotel is the beach and we were having great time together there, playing and exercise..

Next is the National Conference which will be held in June and is organized by UM. I am looking forward it. 

Travel Around Penang

Since 11 May, I have been in Penang because my sister was underwent operation at the Gleneagle Medical Centre.. 

On Friday, I went out with my friend to Komtar, Penang Times Square and dinner near Gurney.. On the way to the Komtar, I saw this 1st Avenue which is going to open soon beside the Perangin Mall..

After that, we walked to the Penang Times Square which few blocks from the Komtar..

After that, we had our dinner at a shop famous with western foods which near the Gurney.. (I not sure where is the location..lol)

Subscribed Streamyx Cool Uni Pack

I finally subscribed to Streamyx Cool Uni Pack after my sister decided to have the netbook. yay..!

I done all the documentation part (application form, IC, matric card) done in February but due to my sister wasn't free and I didn't go back to my hometown, my application for Streamyx Cool Uni Pack delayed until May.. 

On 30th April, I went back to my hometown and submitted my application for Cool Uni Pack on 3 May.. However, I was devastated when the clerk told me, I have to wait 30 working days from the date I cut the old Streamyx which was on 5 April.. Previously, I was using RM 66 package (512kbps) then I decided to "potong" the Streamyx to change to cheaper package of Cool Uni Pack, RM 38 monthly..

Exactly, 11 days after I submitted my application (below 30 working days), this Morning, the Streamyx technician phoned to my father that he is coming to install Streamyx at my house later.. 

However, different case happened on gf as her house hasn't being installed with the Cool Uni Pack even though his internet line has been cut since 3 weeks ago.. She didn't "potong" her Streamyx as she just change the Streamyx's owner name to her name as well as the package from Combo to Cool Uni Pack.. 

I am going to phone and scold the Streamyx agent.. My gf applied Cool Uni Pack during the UUM Convocation expo.. I am disappointed with the slow action taken by the agent and Kedah TM (I think from Alor Setar TM) to settle my gf problem..

Padang Besar

Yesterday, my parents came to UUM to fetch me and my things back to Taiping.. Before going back to Taiping, my parents, my gf and I went to Padang Besar which is located around 45 minutes journey from UUM.. I never been there so I was excited to find out what the place exactly is and the Padang Besar is at the border of Malaysia - Thailand.. So I am expected to see a lot of Thailand goods there..

On the way to the Padang Besar, I am amazed with the hills around the area..

I were surprised that so less tourists are going to Padang Besar even though it is a town developed next to the entrance to Thailand.. perhaps the town isn't much developed as Bukit Kayu Hitam because we won't pass through the Padang Besar if we are using the North-South Expressway to Thailand.. We have use the road to the Kuala Perlis if we wish to pass through the Padang Besar to Thailand which is far away and waste petrol to compare with the road from Bukit Kayu Hitam to Thailand..

Cost Management I

yay!!! party time..!!!

Yesterday, I completed my last paper, Cost Management I..!! After 12 days break, I really don't have the mood to study.. haha.. I am having the feeling of no more exam anymore during these 12 days.. haha

Now I am heading to holiday time!! yet only for few days as I am going to start working in accounting firm soon.. haha

Now I can put aside all my books..!! haha.. holiday time is also time for me to meet up with all my friends.. So long didn't see all of them.. haha
