Another Controversial Ad on TV9

Yet another controversial video on Ramadan advertisement was found on TV9. This time it was a story of two neighbors (both are famous DJ on local radio channel) were competing each other before the "bersahur" in the morning over the food preparation.

It was reported to be controversial as there shouldn't any competing over the food preparation for "bersahur" and it would give a bad image to others and stereotype towards the "bersahur" true meaning.

Skype for iPad

Skype has released its online calling app for iPad.

This Skype for iPad allows Skype users to make free voice and video calls from iPad to other Skype users using WiFi or 3G connection.

As I am using the iPad first generation, I am not able to use the video call function but I am very satisfied with the Skype app specially for iPad. I have been waiting for so long.

Controversial Ramadan Advertisements on 8TV

There was a controversial Ramadan Advertisements on 8TV..!

I was really disappointed with such Ramadan advertisements aired on 8TV. I cannot see the relevant of the stories behind these advertisements.

Rather than making an advertisement in wishing Ramadan, it shows the inappropriate  acting by a Chinese girl on three different scenarios.

The first advertisement shows the girl shouting at one stall owner and asking another for a discount. The second advertisement shows the same girl eating greedily in front of the stall, with Muslim customers watching her. The third advertisement shows the girl wearing a sleeveless blouse, with her shoulders and arm-pits pixelated.

By airing such scenarios, the Malays and Chinese would be felt offended. I understand on the appropriateness during the Ramadan towards the Malays as I studied in Sekolah Kebangsaan and all races understand on these even before Merdeka! Why 8TV has to air such 'racist' advertisements?

Truly disappointed!
