UUM 22nd Convocation

UUM will held its one of the biggest events in the year - that's UUM Convocation.. This year, it is 22nd Convo and there would be a lot of activities and events during the convation days..


According to my friends, they heard that Tun Dr. Mahathir will come to officiate the opening ceremony.. However, according to the program list, it is Yang Berhormat Dato' Wira Mohd Johari Baharum to officiate this opening ceremony..

Wow..!! A lot of actitivites were planned during the convocation week..

UUM Election

The UUM election is around the corner and all semester 1 students are busy registering themselves as voters.. Until now, I haven't receive any news regarding who are the candidates completing in this election..

So far, I received an e-mail to check our personal information as voters and to confirm our information are correct..

Back at UUM

Huhu..

Finally I get myself at UUM.. Life goes on as usual in UUM.. But this time, it was more tough as I need to finish a lot of assignment..!! argh.. very lazy to do these assignment..

So far until now, I have finish my mathematics, statistics, accounts, kenegaraan, ko-k, and Tamadun Islam assignment..

Still left wakaf nia.. haha.. a little bit relief..

Trip to Ipoh

On 21st September, my family, gf and I went to Ipoh shopping and eat "Tauge Ayam" or better known as "Nga Choy Kai", very famous Chinese cuisine in Ipoh.. People start gathering at Nga Choy Kai shops as early as 4pm until midnight..hehe

We began our journey around noon and were surprised by the huge number of cars heading North eventhough today was the 2nd day of Hari Raya..

Our first destination was Jusco - we walked around the mall until 4pm and then to Kek Lok Tong which is not far from Sam Poh Tong.. I love this Kek Lok Tong at my first sight..!! I love the cool environment and beautiful garden surrounding the cave.. You should go see that by yourself..

Around 6pm we went to have our dinner, Nga Choy Kai and were expected the number of crowds there waiting for tables.. hehe.. so special this Nga Choy Kai until people have to stand and wait to get a table.. Seldom to see this case happening in Taiping unless the shop is giving free meal.. hehe.. We had to wait around a half hour before we can sit on empty seats.. wah!! However, a single second wait was worth with superb meal..

We went back around 7.30pm and reached home 8.30pm..

Besta Hi-Skor

On 20th September, I bought a new electronic dictionary (Besta Hi-Skor) for myself.. It has English-English-Malay dictionary and Malay-Malay-English dictionary.. I bought it at RM 298.00, promotion price after rebate RM 100.00.. The product includes a Besta Hi-Skor electronic dictionary, an earphone, a pouch, a user's manual, two AAA batteries and a box..

First Experience

On 17 and 18 September, I spent my two days holiday break in Penang with my gf.. Few new experience I gained throughout these two days..

First :
I had my steamboat and bbq together with my gf, leslie, joon and kyan at Town Steamboat Restaurant located opposite the UMNO Tower Penang.. This was my first time, I went to this restaurant.. At the price of RM 17.90 per person, we can enjoy unlimited satay, dim sum, ice-cream, puddings, fish balls, salad and etc.. However, there is a rule stated that we cannot waste our food as for 100 grams waste, RM 5.00 will be charged.. As soon as, my gf and I arrived at the restaurant, we straight went to the counter to pay RM 17.90 for each person and after that, we were not hesitate to take as much food as we can.. hehe.. The restaurant is well decorated with fountain at the front as well as the unique designs at the inside..

Second :
This was my bad experience because my gf and I were approached by a Malay boy age around 16 - 18 years old and we were frightened with his request.. The story began when I reached Jetty and while crossing the pedestrian bridge to the bus terminal, we were approached by the boy and asked me RM 2.00 in Malay language..

Boy : Dua Ringgit ada?
Me : Tak ada
Boy : Dua Ringgit saja..!!
Me : Tak ada
Boy : Mana tak ada
(I ignore him and walk away slowly, then he walk beside me)
Boy : Bila orang minta, tak mau bagi, bila orang tunjuk pisau baru mau bagi, tikam kamu baru tau (at the same time, he swing his elbow to me, then he put his hand inside his pocket searching for something)
Boy : Mau bagi atau tak mahu?
Me : Tak mau
(with his angry face, he walk pass me and then curse me)

I continued walk to the Ferry Terminal and across to Butterworth by ferry.. While inside the ferry, we saw the boy on the same ferry with us and when we at the Butterworth bus terminal, I saw the boy asking money from someone..

I warned everyone to be cautious while you are in these places as the prey is looking for opportunity to take advantage on you.. Be alert and be careful..!!!

The boy may become more fierce in future as he has the gut to ask money in the daylight..


Third :
Frankly to say to all, I haven't sit on double decker bus until today because usually this bus is for long journey ride.. Today, my gf and I sit on this bus from Butterworth to Taiping..!! Surprise me because the double decker bus was used for a short destination.. I think maybe because Hari Raya break, so the bus operator increase the number of busses on each trip.. The experience on this "VIP" double decker bus was amazing, wow!! smooth and quiet while driving at high speed.. performance > expectation ; thumb up!!

Laptop Hardware Update

Today, I went to Penang's Toshiba Service Centre at Northem Tower Wing A to check my laptop..

As I thought, the blinking at the bottom of my LCD screen was caused by the hardware and I was told by the technician that the LCD need to change to a new one..

He asked me to bring my laptop after Hari Raya on Wednesday and I have to wait about 1 to 2 weeks for them to service my laptop.. So, I think, the waiting time is too long for me and I need this laptop to survive..hehe

Hence, I changed my plan to send my laptop for service after my final semester examination in November..

Holiday Spirit..

Hari Raya holiday is just one week from today..!!!

Today, I bought two tickets to Butterworth with my gf to have fun in Penang for few days besides I am going to take my laptop to Toshiba Centre..

I bought 11.30 am bus from UUM and hopefully would reach Penang by lunch time so that I can bring my laptop to service centre by 2pm..

Hopefully, my hardwares problem are not serious and would be repaired in one day time as I am going back to Taiping on Friday or Saturday together with my sisters..

Hip Hip Hooray..

I finally completed my four mid-semester exam papers.. (Account, Marketing, Mathematics and Statistics) Quite difficult and challenging for all the papers..

Nowonwards until October, I am free from any exam and I can enjoy my Hari Raya holiday to the fullest as I no need to bring any reference book home to study.. hehe

Bad to Worst..!!

The annoying blinking at the bottom of my screen has become worst.. The blinking happens more frequently on every 2 seconds and the blink last for 2 seconds..

Hopefully my computer can last until 18 September so that I can bring my laptop to repair at Penang Toshiba Centre..

Anyway, I can't wait to go back to my hometown this Hari Raya holiday.. So miss my home besides this holiday is a great opportunity to travel with my gf and meet with my old friends that I so long didnt meet up with them..
